Face and Neck Curved Liposuction are ideal surgeries for men and women who desire facial contouring due to age, weight gain, or an accumulation of fat in a specific area.
— Dr. Mark Anton, Newport Beach Plastic Surgeon
Many of Dr. Anton’s facelifts include Curved Face and Neck Liposuction, but for the younger patient not quite ready for a facelift, this procedure can rejuvenate the jawline, cheeks, and chin area for a more youthful appearance.
Curved Face and Neck Liposuction is performed under general anesthesia in an outpatient facility. The duration of the surgery varies but is typically one hour. Small incisions (the size of a small puncture wound) are made under the chin and sometimes behind each ear lobe. A specialized curved cannula is used for removing fat and contouring the desired area. Incisions are sutured and in most cases not noticeable once healed.
Newport Beach Plastic Surgery
During your consultation with Dr. Anton, your areas of concern and your surgical options will be addressed along with where to harvest the highest quality fat for the procedure.
Very often the flanks offer the highest-grade fat, but the abdomen, waist, and hips are other areas to consider. Since only a small amount of fat is removed for Fat Transfer, patients should not expect the benefits of regular Curved Liposuction (See Liposuction) to the harvested area.
After Face and Neck Curved Liposuction you can expect minimal to no pain. A chin wrap is required to be worn for 7 days and nights after Neck Curved Liposuction followed by nightly use the following week. There can be light to moderate bruising and swelling in the liposuctioned area that in most cases disappears within 7-10 days.
Facial Fat Transfer
While our Newport Beach face & neck liposuction patients desire the removal of fat from one area, they often desire it in another such as the cheeks, temples, chin, and lips.
Fat transfer is similar to Dermal Fillers and Volumizers (See Injectables) in that it rebalances the faces for a more symmetric and youthful appearance.
Many have suggested that fat is more permanent than artificial dermal fillers and volumizers, but each individual will vary depending on factors such as metabolic rate and availability of blood supply to the transfer area. Fat transfer can be combined with other Face, Breast or Body surgeries.
Fat Transfer surgery is done under general anesthesia in an outpatient facility and generally in combination with another procedure. During face and neck liposuction Newport Beach plastic surgeon, Dr. Anton will make small incisions (the size of a small puncture wound) in the harvest area where a specialized curved cannula removes the fat. Incisions are sutured and in most cases not noticeable once healed.
The harvested fat can be combined with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), a combination of growth factors and stem cells derived from taking a vial of one’s own blood prior to surgery. Micro cannulas are used to inject the treated fat into the desired areas. Mild to moderate swelling and bruising in the treated areas can occur.
After surgery, any activities that would increase heart rate or blood pressure are strictly prohibited. This would include exercise, lifting, sexual intercourse, climbing stairs, intense stress, and walking other than getting from point A to B.
Many normal activities may resume after two weeks or as instructed by Dr. Anton. For our Newport Beach face & neck liposuction patients, running, fast walking, lifting weights or any other form of exercise are not advised until after 4 weeks or as instructed by Dr. Anton.
